The Next Chapter for Faeria
If you’ve been following Faeria for any amount of time, you probably have realized by now that we are continually evaluating ourselves, the game, and where we should go next. Faeria has been a roller coaster of development for the better part of this decade. Every day we still find ourselves making dozens of critical decisions on the general direction of Faeria and changes we think are important. Our team has grown, our ambitions have grown, and our game has grown. In the past 5 months alone, we’ve delivered 3 major batches of content, not to mention the heavy amount of features we’ve added to the game. At this very moment, we are working on the next major expansion for Faeria.
And so it is that we find ourselves here at the next significant set of crossroads. This next chapter for Faeria comes with an important announcement:
From this day forward, we are proud and excited to announce that we will be partnering with Versus Evil for the publishing and future releases of Faeria.
Joining the battle: Versus Evil
You may already know of Versus Evil from one of their many other successful published games such as The Banner Saga and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. If you don’t, perhaps the best way to introduce them is with their own self-proclaimed identity: “An indie games publisher, powered by indies.”
It’s not just anyone that we would enter into a partnership with for Faeria. It’s no secret that Faeria is our labor of love, and we need to know it is in the right hands. Over some time, we’ve established a relationship with Versus Evil and are confident they are the right team to help us move forward with our game and bring it to the next level.
Among other things, Versus Evil will be taking charge of launching and promoting Faeria into a more diverse set of online gaming stores outside of Steam.
We are certain that the passionate folks from Versus Evil are the right crew to be working alongside for the future of Faeria.
What does this mean for Faeria’s development?
The creative development of Faeria will remain entirely within the scope of Abrakam’s vision. We will be maintaining the same team, the same development process, the same artists, and the same passion for Faeria as we always have had before. You should notice little to no difference in content delivery, feature development, bug fixing, or anything else you’re already used to with our game. We want to make sure you understand that we will be as completely involved with the development of Faeria as we always have been.
The partnership with Versus Evil is a genuinely mutual agreement. We will continue to do what we do best, and they will join us and do what they do best: Publish great indie games.
We very much look forward to our future with our new partners and, as always, will continue to keep you updated every step of the way.
Our core community of players has always been what has kept us going. You have, beyond doubt, helped build and shape us throughout all of these years. We thank you for enjoying our game, are humbled to have you aboard, and welcome you to join us for its next big ride.
