Faeria Academy: Chapter 0 - How to get started

Faeria Academy is a series of articles created in order to help new players get started with Faeria. The game combines the pace of modern digital card games with a living board, creating a dynamic and exciting element that is unique to the game. As the combination of a card game with a living board is entirely unique, we created the Academy to help new players transition and adapt to this style of game play. Faeria Academy starts with the basics but eventually delves into deeper, more advanced tactics and concepts. Each article provides access to additional resources that provide further help on the subjects being covered, including videos and similar articles.

Getting started in Faeria

This guide will give you all the information you need to start your journey with Faeria. The purpose of this guide is to inform you of all the content you can explore and how to build up your card collection.

The beginning

After completing the tutorial you are given access to the main game. From here you can play any mode except Pandora. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend continuing with the solo missions.

Solo mode

Solo content is a fun way to gain more cards. There are a variety of different types of solo missions from battles to tricky puzzles. Solo mode is a great way to boost your collection as a beginner and it will teach you how to play Faeria in the process. Completing the objectives listed on the side will give you various rewards such as battle chests and avatars.

Leveling up

Completing solo missions will allow you to gain levels but you can level up by playing any mode in Faeria. Levels are achieved pretty quickly and you gain a reward every time you level up. These rewards vary, ranging from gold to individual cards. If you play a match against a real opponent you will gain gold at the end of the match regardless if you win or lose.

Before you get to level fifteen, you should make use of the Recruit a Friend system.

Recruit your friends and earn rewards

If you have friends who already play Faeria then you can set one as your recruiter. This will give you both rewards as you level up. You can do this by entering your recruiter’s nickname in the box at the top of the Friendlist in Faeria. Head over to the Recruit a Friend webpage and connect your Abrakam login.

Also, if you have any friends who would like to start playing Faeria then make sure they set you as a Recruiter before they reach level fifteen!

Pandora

Pandora levels the playing field for new players. Every player has to draft a new deck from a card pool outside of their collection. In Pandora you don’t have to worry about other players having more cards than you. You must reach level seven before you can start Pandora.

Every day you will gain a Practice Pandora Coin. This is a great way to practice Pandora and earn rewards.

You don’t even have to play against real players. You can now choose between Single Player and Multiplayer. I’d recommend starting off with Single Player to gain experience until you feel confident enough to dive into Multiplayer.

Battle Mode

Battle Mode pits players against each other with their own decks. These decks are made up from your personal card collection. There are two modes to play: Casual and Ranked. Casual is a great way to test deck ideas and practice the game. Ranked allows you to climb the ladder and reap rewards at the end of the season.

Don’t be afraid to play Ranked mode. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Daily Rewards

Faeria gives you two opportunities to earn rewards daily. The first is a Daily Login Bonus which can reward you with gold, gems or chests. Be sure to login in at least once a day to claim your rewards.

The second opportunity for rewards are your Daily Quests. These quests offer either battle chests or gold upon completion. You can have three quests stored at any time. Make sure you have at least one quest spot free so you can receive a new quest every day.

Goki, the Gold Miner

Goki, the Gold Miner costs 1000 gems and he will mine gold for you each day for a total of thirty days. Hiring him will cost you gems but the returns are good, especially if you’re a new player.

Conclusion

As you can see there is loads to do in Faeria already, but this is just the beginning. On the horizon we have the Adventure Pouch. You have been tasked to help Fugoro battle the Emperor of Mirnast. If you’d like to know more then check out our Adventure Pouch webpage. Good luck on your journey!
