With all the direct and gift damage the enemy creatures are lucky to stay on the board for 1 turn. The best way to set up lands is to open with double neutral and try to get a mountain between the wells on each side. Failing that, take the spots which have a tile on every side, these are great for Salamanders and Bomb Slingers.
