Magda's Forbidden Wishes

Or 50 Shades of Magda? Title's are hard :(

Not reliably competitive, but fun deck.

Had a bit of a break from Faeria since the gameplay just felt too repetitive with the "effective" decks that i could build. Upon my return to the game, I wanted to create a deck that could give me a completely different experience from competitive play. Obviously i couldn't change the meta/opponents... so I needed to create a deck that could play out in a variety of ways. This is the result.

Personally, i prefer opening with blue due to its mobility and the land synergy for both libraries and Wishes. Given all the healing in this deck an early library also means that these cards are less likely to become dead weight.

Speaking of cards and dead weight - this deck will spit out cards faster than you can imagine. Magda and 2 Libraries may sound great, but it will drain your memoria. Which means your hand is full with cards (many of which draw another upon play) and you are gonna burn the ones you still wanted to use. Plus wishes become useless. It is therefore all about collecting loads of memoria. You want to stall and feint by opening to the opposite site and using your land acceleration (which also helps you with wishes and Magda), .... while you build up your memoria and structures.

All that said there is a ton of different strategies that can be played, which heavily depend on your card draws, Magda's Magic and Wishes. You are getting a bunch of libraries and will fall behind if you dont use them? Place them "offensively" to block and distract - so that you are likely to get 1 or 2 rounds of benefits before they are destroyed. Which is actually an ideal outcome for this deck due to Magda and Wishes.

He opened left, I went right with an air elemental, Earthcrafted a lake and dropped a Water Elemental, i then fell behind in exchanges a little and put down 2 libraries and Magda (Only because i am expecting him to destroy them after a round + had around 15 memoria due to Windfall and Triton Sanctuaries). When Magda drew Day of Dragons... it was memes all the way.

This guy had lots of removal, but I went for an early Ruunin and a bunch of structure, which offer bad trade values (i.e. fireball 3 vs. library 1). One had been destroyed here already.


To be fair though, against rush this deck is in trouble - which makes it only suitable for casual play. If you do manage to get things up and running though, it is an absolute joy.
