Monthly Cup Results

Friends list issues

We have been receiving a lot of reports where some players are unable to add each other to their friends list since the last client patch. We've recognized that a problem does exist, and will be patching it this week. In the meantime, sorry for the inconvenience!

Next Monthly Cup and Invited Guests

Based on feedback we've been getting from players (and in the interest of spicing things up a bit), we'll be making some changes to the next Monthly Cup.

• Qualifier Format: As mentioned on our forum earlier this week, both qualifiers will be moving to Double Elimination.
• Invited Guests: We will be inviting the top two finishers of every Monthly Cup to the next cup. That means that both Sweety and HeliosAflame will have guaranteed spots next month, and will count as two of the four special invitees.

(Both players have recently formed their own team together. Introducing: Apex!)

• Krog's Bounty: Krog will be placing $150 bounties on the heads of these two players, every month! This sounds a lot more dangerous than it really is. Should anyone be able to defeat them in the next Monthly Cup, they will be able to claim the bounty. Should either win the next Monthly Cup, they will claim their own bounty. Special thanks to Sweety himself for coming up with this idea. Krog thinks it's great!
• Bracket Seeding:
  (If you aren't interested in the technicalities of tournament structure, read no further!)
  One of the most common lines of feedback from the first Monthly Cup were requests for some sort of adjustment to the randomized seeding. We do want to keep the matches occurring toward the end of the bracket as exciting as possible, and agree that some changes could be made to both help in this regard and increase the incentive for our best players to rank themselves as high as possible on the ladder during the season.
  Therefore: We will be seeding 12 players. The top 4 seeds will go to our 4 special invitees in order of invitation: Meaning the winners of the previous cup will always have the best seeding, and the remaining invitees will be randomly selected for the 3rd and 4th seed.
  The next 8 seeds will go to the highest ranked Gods of all remaining players, regardless of how they qualified.

Seeding arrangement:

• 1: Invited Guest #1 (Winner of previous cup, $150 Krog's Bounty)
• 2: Invited Guest #2 (2nd place of previous cup, $150 Krog's Bounty)
• 3-4 Invited Guest #3 and #4 (randomized)
• 5-12: Highest 8 God ranks of all remaining qualified players, in order of #1- #8.
• 13-32: Randomized.

Prize distribution: We've also had some feedback regarding prize distribution, and will be looking to making changes to this in the future. Rather than decrease the current amount of winnings to the top finishers, we'd instead like to increase the total prize pool and distribute that amount to the next highest finishers. While these changes likely won't make it in the for next cup, it's something currently on the discussion table.
