Probably best Mulligans - Elemental, Faery, Embrace./Shedim Brute, Gift of Steal, Axe Grinder
Avoid Sagami, Cannon Carrier and Feed the Forest. Red over green.
If sensible, embrace Flamesilk to avoid easy removal (immediately against Red(!), Blue/Green if you are worried about falcon strike, for yellow wait until the Faery's effect triggers since choking sands isn't stopped by an embrace). Don't overbuff (in general) due to hard removal + because it's always good to keep a buff on hand for surprise attacks. Generally try to use Gift of Steel for your combat creatures and the Embrace for the Faeries.
Play as the situation demands. It is not always wise to immediately go for range on face. Sniping collectors while growing yourself can also be effective.
Mountains to both sides of the orb for potential barracks support.
Haven't played it in ranked, but it's fun in casual.
