My name is wnd (wind). I, along with a friend, after losing one too many times to the soulless Ulani went back to the drawing board. We decided on making decks that pushed out a lot of taunt creatures. Why? In and effort to help mitigate Ulani's black hearted heavy hitting early game pushers. We needed to make it to mid and late game with these paper farts, er... taunters so we used blue events, Goki's, and some well placed protection and healing.

Strategy

First: Replace the 2x Farm Boy with the following:
1x - Goki, Friendly Miner
1x - Crystal Flower

Second: Our goal was to connect to each other ASAP and try to play at least one taunt creature by one of Ulani's creatures. This is where Hold the Line and Imperial Guards shine. Don't go being an asshole to your teammate and only protect yourself. If you're trying to solo kill Ulani's creatures you're doing it wrong. Just like a ducks erection dragging weeds Ulani the Merciless is going to target one of you and the other needs to come help.

There were 2 giant benefits to using so many Imperial Guards:
- Using this crazy tactic gave us roughly an extra turn of breathing room.
- Ulani killing them every turn gave us health.

Goki, in its infinite wisdom, gave us an Aurora's Teapot (All friendly creatures are 6/6) which helped us tremendously late game. With all the Imperial Guard presence on the board pumping them to 6/6 using Teapot gave us a pushing advantage. YRMV.

Imperial Guards - at first glance - is like when Leonidas was a scrawny kid getting slapped around. But leave the guards out there, in the cold, they'll kill a wolf or two. And the few that remain, the brave few, they'll never retreat, never surrender. They'll become Kings of the land. Ulani's army is all flash and hired guns, they never even stood a chance. Use this deck and you'll win (probably).
