While the concept of running Tale of the Old Turtle in Angry isn't a particularly new invention I believe there have always been a few too many compromises when it came to the deck's ability to curve out. Starting with a Yellow base instead of the usual Blue base makes for a much rounder early game. Even with Red's access to premiere starting units like Axe Grinder and Spite Sprite it is simply not worth delaying your other special lands. By treating our mountains as nothing other than a way of getting to our high synergy payoff we are able to more consciously deter from our standard gameplay without sacrificing too much momentum. Glide Hopper is another great include that works with our early pivots and can snowballs trades with Oradrim Fanatic. As the deck effectively operates at 2 Lakes and 2 Deserts for the majority of the game it is easy to see why even some of the more potent removal options like Thunder Eel are discarded. Lastly Triton Adventurer ties the deck together by providing more consistency through draw and demanding much of our opponent's attention with its ongoing effect.
